Planning to buy Corrado from Germany, and need some help

  • Have started to look for Corrado VR6's at autoscout and for me it looks like the cars varies much in price, what would anyone in Germany say is a fair price to pay for a Corrado, let's say a 1993/94 model, and what would be a "normal" milage for such a car in Germany? (seem to vary a bit here to)..........am a bit vorried to be "hoaxed" as I'm living in Norway myselfe and even if the cost in Germany isn't that much the tax to get it into Norway makes it quite expensive anyway so I kinda "gotta" get a good conditioned car, so is there any places one could take a car for a test/check to get it overlooked by people who knows a bit about engine/car in general as I'm no mecanic myselfe.....

Also is there anything I should be aware of buying such a car, and things to look out for?

Hope someone are able to give me some hints about these questions...;)

    thanks in advance

  • hi mawrick,
it´s hard to say what price is fair for a vr6, it depends on milage, condition and tuning... but i would say a '93 vr6 should have not more than 150000km, and i would pay not more than 5000euro, if the condition is quite good...

if you find a corrado on mobile.de or autoscout, tell us the link, then we can say if it´s a good deal or not...

    greets

    pe

p.s.: visit my homepage, i have no norway entry at my guestbook... :grinning_squinting_face:

  • Thanks for the feedback, greatly apreciated......also you got a greeting from norway in your guestbook now...;)

One other thing I'm interested in finding out is how many rpm's would the vr6 engine run at whith "normal german driving".......(you know our speed-limit's are as low as 100km/h (and that's max))......
Thinking a bit if there is much "danger" that the engine has been "weared" out, or is it signs from the engine if that should be the case?

    thanks again.

  • Hehe, guess that's true, but then again we have many steep hils so the extra .9 litre volume would help...;)........

btw is the 2.0 the same engine as the one in the Golf 16V ?

  • Hmm yes... a 2.0i would make a good job too, if your maximum speed limit is 100km/h. For german highways, this version is a bit underpowered. Not everytime, but somethimes...

A VR6 is much more expensive and won't be that profitable.
The 2.0i Engine is fine too... and if that isn't enough for you, there is also the 2.0 16v, which has more power.

Buuuuut, if you realy want to drive a VR6, i don't want to tell you sotrys about other corrado-versions. The VR6 is a nice machine and also very good if you want/must drive it slow =).

As PE said. If you found a Corrado and you don't know if he or the dealer is good, ask us and we will try to help you. But as you can see, it can take a long time untill you get an answer!

    I wish you good luck!

    95er Corrado VR6 111.000km (verkauft)

  • Thanks again for reply.

Yea, guess a 2.0 would be "enough" for speed-limits here, but it's nice to have a big engine........and the sound of the VR6 is just *nice*...:).

Have tried to mail around on some of the cars I'v found interesting, but not many seem to reply, not sure if it's because I'm writing in english or not but....:(

Found one very interesting one in Hamburg (was a bit expensive, but if I get to sell my motorbike it would be ok I guess....).

Does anyone know if this is an original Corrado Color? (eventually what is it called, and what is it's code?)

Do you think the price was too high on that one?

  • The colour of this Corrado is an orginal colour.

It calls ,,brombeer metallic'' and the code LK4Z...

    Look at http://tom-ole.bei.t-online.de/

But the chairs are from an older model I think. Because the last Corrados did not have half leather chairs, only full leather chairs.

And it has no air condition. The actual state looks good but I think, the prize is too high.

The seller should sink the prize!

    6.000 - 6.500 € is a real prize I think.

  • Zitat

Does this mean that the interior have been replaced at one time?.

btw, does this interior have the "arm-rest" between the back seats?.......if anyone can tell me what models that didn't have that "feature", that would be nice.
