Thanks for the tips - I went thru most of that before - but today I looked back into the bentley and was taking a closer look at the relay panel, turns out a former owner must have put in a relay "72" into slot number 5 - which should contain either a "43" relay or left "open".
I presume this caused it to make a circuit to ground over the coil in the relay - causing a false signal to the needle.....:)
The voltage is now back to roughly 10V at the pin, and all seem to be working

I'v had this problem with my corrado for a long time, but never realy looked into it, but the temp gauge will rise up to about 90C when I turn the ignition - doesn't matter if it's cold or warm.
I'v verified the instrument cluster are working (tested in another car - and another cluster have been tested in the corrado with the same result - rising to 90C).
I'v tried to change out the harness from cluster to fuse box - but nothing changed.
The line from the cluster to the sensor have been measured and seem to be fine.
It will rise up to 90 C even if the sensor is disconnected - so that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem.
I'v tried to compare it a bit to my older Passat VR6 - and what I find differs is following:
reistance between negative battery and pin that goes to sensor (blue/white cable) is 166 on the Corrado and 266 Ohm in the Passat.
The pin that goes to the fan-control unit have aprox 1.6Kohm on the corrado but have about 23-25 (or might have been 30-35 Kohm's) - so quite a bit of difference.
Also when I measure voltage at the sensor pin I get apx 6.3V on the Corrado but almost 10V on the passat. The pin to fan control get aprox 12V on both cars.
Also the ground connection seem to be good.
So I'm starting to run out of ideas on what might be causing this thing to happen.....:(
Video of the cluster can be seen here:

Looks like that's the car - got a reply stating it at least
----------------------------------
Corrcting myself - as he did a bit more watching, he could state that it wasn't his C, as there is difference between the color of the wing, so it must be another C

thnx for the link - emailed him.....:)

A norwegian magazin did a drive test of the new Audi RS6 where they suddenly found themself "competing" with a white Corrado on the autobahn - anyone in here have any info about this car? or any of you guys own it maybe?:
The video can be watched here: (couldn't find the direct link to the video, so have to start it from the page).....the corrado shows up near the end of the video.

When coming into Salzburg today I noticed a Corrado coming thru a roundabout a few miles before salzburg (I couldn't realy see what color it was - might have been black or brombeer), and looked like it was s "shiny" example......
Who's C might this have been ? - any of you guys????
On a small "roadtrip" - sadly not in a C as I fly to Berlin, and had to get a rental - so driving around in a BMW 325.....at least it's V6 so not bad for a rental
No one knows......ohh...have to add....ofcourse the bmw is not a V6 - but a 6'er non the less :)...lol

thanks for the info m8 - turns out the Corrado sadly isn't going to Germany this year (the car is ready) - but turns out the people I'm going with wasn't able to go on a long trip this year - so guess maybe next year
however me and one other guy is going to Berlin, renting a car - and are heading down to munich the same day we arrive - any tips of nice places to visit on this trip - any nice way to drive?? - I guess we are heading into switzerland, maybe france also etc.....
Reason for not driving our own car is the guy I'm travelling with only was able to do about 1 week + and driving from up here, one would want to have 3-4 weeks available...:)

As me and a few mates are thinking about a trip down into Europe - and I'm thinking of taking the Corrado as opposed the the 3.2 Passat as my Car of choice (pretty much always been a plan to take the C to the autobahn).
Is there any thing you guys think I should bring as spare when going on such a trip.
My C is a 95 VR6, which have been pretty much totaly refurbished last year - all bushings suspension etc have been replaced, also chain etc on on engine have been taken care of.
Is there anything that might be more prone to braking when going high speed as you guys do (no I'm not going to the autobahn to drive carelessly, but out max is 100 or so so autobahn is a completely different game).
Thanks for any tips!

Do they call them VR6 in Norway or like over here just V6 ??
After the 35i VW called all cars V6 instead of VR6 in germany.
V6 here as well, guess it's only in the states theyr called VR6's
Wonder why - more "exclusive" with VR6 name IMHO.....:)
-
for getting a sedan instead of a wagon
yea, used to have a wagon 35i VR6 - but that was pretty much only because of the VR6, and at the time very hard to get a sedan VR6 (although practical the sedan is more comfort ).
I guess it's much the same with the 3C - there are less VR6's sedans, but this car showed up recently, and in Norway they are quite hard to sell, so was able to get an "ok" price (not compared to your prices though....lol...)

thnx guys! - enjoying it

Just signed contract for a new "Corrado support vehicle"...
This is a 06 Passat 3.2 VR6, with roughly 53 000 km on the meter....haven't gotten it in my hands yet, so dealer picture will have to do....:)
Gona be my "daily" (or winter beater if you wish), as the C is pretty much my daily during summer
-
No, we're men enough to shift manually
Take a look to http://www.dsg-corrado.de
Or contact Dirty Sanchez. He's owing a R32 engine with DSG in his Corrado.haha! - my C is still a manual, the trouble I have though is that I'm looking for a newer Daily - preferable a Passat, and (sadly?) just loving the VR6 engine, so the only option is DSG.....lol....;)
Would like it to be 6T Manual - but I guess that's not possible thanks for the info

Not a Corrado related Q, but still though I'd ask here anyway.
Currently *considering* (not sure it will be) a new daily driver - 2006 Passat 3.2 with a DSG box (to my knowledge the 3.2 and 3.6 are only available with DSG's???).
The biggest "problem" I have with considering this car is the fact that it have the DSG and not a manual - as to me it seem like there have been lots of trouble (expensive) with the DSG/Mechatronic.
Anyone in here have any personal experience with it, and have VW "sorted" the problems with updates, or will/can they fail even after a replacement unit?.
And is there certain versions of it that have these problems.
The Passat I'm considering have about 50 000 km on the meter - but due to Norwegian taxes on big engines it's quite expensive - so wouldn't want to end up with a DSG bill on top of it all
thanks for any info's

alright, thnx for the info guys

As I'm considering importing a newer car from Germany - f.ex a Passat CC or something like that.
Is there any big VW (or other dealers that sells VW's) that will have many used cars available?.
Hopefully nearby Berlin area as that's where it's easiest to travel.
If any other places that's recommended please feel free to post tips

thnx guys - soon going into winter storage.......next week I guess
Too much salt on the roads during winter time up here
