Which engine, where is the code being indicated?
A worn cam chain will either kill the engine when it finally ripps apart or it will cause rattling noises, it will not effect the starting performance.

Which engine? A VR6. The code is 00515, cam pos sensor G40, open or short to plus, intermittent. Read with VAG-COM. This mechanic said it starts to rattle when the strainer could not handle the problem, but in this case, it can. He said that a worn chain could give the dtc, and also start problem. I don't know.

    Hi!

I have this fault code (dtc). A mechanic told me it can be cam chain that is worn, and that wil give this dtc. Motor is also little harder to start. Earlier it started instantly, now it takes 1-2 sec. Everything else is ok. Can the chain and this dtc do that it will be harder to start?

Thanks for your help, I will start to kontact them.

No we don´t have such search engine, btw great idea.

I told you in the other thread the price is 100€, no suprise it is not not the right part.

write to following author´s in this Forum for used parts:

    Corrado Joe
    Martin Weigelt
    Schanze
    ThomasK

Or eBay.de, yesterday last price for 2 fog´s and 2 turns was 60,10€!! and facelift parts (the one you need)

I have sent him an email, but he didn't answer. Now I see that this foglight for 78€ isn't for my car. My foglight is integrated in that black frame/console which you also fasten turning light in. In Sweden we have a database there we can search parts from every car junk yard in Sweden http://www.bildelsbasen.se/. Do you have the same in Germany?

    @ Anders

Just send him a mail and ask for used parts - maybe he've got some for you!

[quote='CorradoTobman']the best thing is to let it as it is. i guess you lowered your car, so its just normal that they crack in a short time. just think of the small stones that are smashing at the lights when driving 200 on the highway.

The car is not lowered. The problem is that the glass has not a single crack. It is really broken. One third of the glass is inside the lamp, so I can not just let it be.

Is it possible to use a fog light from a G60 and take the glass of and move it to my fog light? I can find lot of fog lights for G60 in Sweden but not for VR6.

    Hi gents,

Can you give me a tip. One of my foglights is crashed. Normally they only have a crack. I know this is a construction problem.

If I go to VW in Sweden I have to pay 120€ for one light. Now to my Q:
-What is the price in DE?
    -Is the original better now?
-Do you have a better solution?

What is the IMG button thought for? Anyway I now know more about the broken part. I have ETKA but I haven't been able to find this part. I was in to VW yesterday. They where 3 persons who looked for this part, looked at my car, but found out that this part is missing on ETKA. One was technician and could tell me what it is. It is in ventilation of crankhouse (correct word?). It is a one way valve, that now is broken. The metal house that this part is going into is a course filter stopping most of the oil from getting into the fuel intake. I also yesterday was to a car graveyard and looked on a AAA motor. This motor doesn't have this valve, only a hose that goes in to the filter, like the picture on ETKA.

Here comes the photo you can look on. There you can see a "bindfaden". I have fastened it in the upper side in the thing that is broken and leaking. Again, what is it called and it is an expensiv part? Is this a regular fault? I have put the snore there to press it together to make the leak smaller. What is the aluminium part called that is below?
Click on "full storlek" (maximum size) above the photo to see best.

Why is it so difficult to get an answer? Is it because no one has an answer or is it difficult to understand or answer in English? It is OK to answer in German, I can get help to translate if I can't understand. Or is it that you don't want to answer because I'm not a german? Send me a line about this.

Since some time my car has been little hard to start and I have noticed a little higher gazoline consumption. I now think I have found the reason but I don't know what the part is called. It's located on the left side of the motor, just behind the aluminium part around 10x2o cm big (left of cylinder head). It is a round rubber thing, diam about 5 cm. it has a fron part with a smaller diameter. This is loose and taking in air. On this thing there is located a small hose which has a crimp hos fastener on it. What is this thing called and what system is it part of ( valve house vent?). Is it expensive. Is this problem seen often or could a good one at a Yank yard?

I will send you all German C-owners a good spring time and summer with your beatyful cars and a big thank for all the help you have given me! I hope I can come down and meet you on a "Treffen". You can see my name at "roos-tech.com" as a distributor for Sweden.
