You are so lucky!
I just found where I got the Keyring from.http://www.justmatz.co.uk/products.php?cat=6
They also make REALLY nice carpet mats for the Corrado.

Stainless Steel Manifolds.
If you need a new manifold for a VR6 I think it will cost about €800 from VW. So the Raceland SS manifolds are better value whilst they do not really give performance gains. Miltech and Supersprint both make flowed manifolds which will improve performance a little but they are very expensive! So in short. If your manifold is bust, buy a Raceland one on E-Bay. Think they even come with a long warranty.

Storm badges on the gearstick surround and on the rear. Mystic Blue or Classic Green paint, Colour coded grill and Leather Interior (black or cream) as standard where the other "special" features of the last 500 Corrados supplied to the UK.

From wikipedia...
"Production ceased in Europe, with the UK-only limited production model, the Corrado VR6 Storm. Some discreet "Storm" badging, a colour-keyed front grille, 15 inch BBS "Solitude" alloy wheels, and standard fitment of some previously optional items (such as the leather heated front seats) were all that differentiated this model from the base Corrado VR6. Only 500 were produced, 250 in Classic Green, and 250 in Mystic Blue (unique to the Storm)."

Wörthersee! That's where I should be!!

Ok. Visited Schmitz & Krieger in Loevenich today.
They think that the Conrod Bearing is damaged.
When they disconnect the sparkplug from Cyclinder 1. The noise stops. They are going to take the engine out and examine it. Hopefully they will be able to fix it quickly. I will also have the timing chains and clutch changed at the same time. Is there any other work I should ask them to do?

I have an appointment with an engineering company here in Koln tomorrow.
Schmitz & Kreiger. Only about 3 km from my house.Hopefully they can fix her

I agree. Others on the Forum have suggested these guys...

Just hope the car is ok to drive the 230 km to get there!
The YouTube link works fine for me.

Thanks Tyler. Dortmund is a lot closer! I'll drop him a PM.

Zitat
In Kassel is a very good mechanic. Called 89erheliosblau. Its a specialist VR.
Thanks for that Jonny Flash. I'll contact him. He's a little far away though. I don't know if I can drive the car 300km like this.
Anyone else closer to Koln? The UK is a much smaller country and every major City has a VW Tuning Specialist! -
sounds like a sewing machine
It sure does!
I'll do my best to make it to the annual meet. Just need to find a good mechanic!

Only American Corrado's had engines 2.8.
Something to do with emission controls. All UK VR6's should be 2.861 cc. Engine code ABV.
No problem Matoa

Just been searching the UK Corrado Forum and it looks like my problem may be related to tappets.
I think putting some thicker oil in the engine may solve this. What is German for "tappets" ?
-
Why jou have a 2.8 VR6?
I do not. I have have a 2.9 VR6 ABV. This is a video of someone elses car from Youtube.

Hi Matze782
Timing Chain rattle is correct. I will have a look for those videos.
I don't really care about cost as I am going to keep this Corrado a very long time. I've been looking for a Storm with this spec for years.I just want to find a good mechanic who will care for the car and do a good job. Owning an old car is never cheap. I have my TDi Golf for daily driving.
Any Cologne forum members out there??
