Any of you guys know if the recall for danger with the heater matrix was for all Corrado's or only for some models?.
Mine is a 1995 VR6 (produced in december 94) - should this car have been recalled at some point in time?
Also, when was VW aware of the problem with the heater matrix? (as this car was owned by VW in the early days - and maybe it was corrected at that time?).

Out of interest, do you guys know if many C's are scrapped due to getting "good" pay for them at the scrap yard? (AFAIK Germany have enforced a "law" that makes it more profitable to discard a car instead of selling it - atleast for some of the old ones).....
Still not finished, but coming along nicely - decided to brake the alternator and get that powdercoated as well - the project have been a bit set back by the heavy/cold winter here in Norway, ad the place the car is at is quite "open"........an old saw mill 
- so can't do any work when the temps have been -15 and beyound...:(, hopefully finnished by summer anyway
No. No.6 is only needed if you ride on OEM Suspension.
Ok, thnx I presume the only thing I will do then is to put bearing over the purple plastiv, tighten it with the "flat" nut, and then put the rubber on - put it on the car and tighten at the top.

btw, am I also supposed to use item nr 6 ? (I placed the bearing directly on the plastic), like this:

hmm ok, so then I presume the nut should be able to "go thru" the rubber without "stopping" in the rubber?...
I'v run into a small thing when installing the KW V1.

I'm a bit unsure if the nut I have that goes thru the "rubber", holding the bearing is wrong, as it doesn't go "thru" the rubber - it stops in the rubber, and I thought the rubber should rotate freely on the bearing??.

Sorry not yet - plan to be finished spring/early summer - when I hopefully will go on a road trip in Europe again (have to get down on the continent to drive on your good roads...;) )

Cut from another thread in an english forum:
The engine is now almost ready, the chain have been done, new lifters, new valve stem seals, MK4 head gasket, new stainless crack pipe, all new plastic (thermostat housing etc), all new sensors on the oil-filter housing, and in thermostat housing. it's pretty much assembled only missing the crack pipe/thermostat housing + a few other bits a pieces.
The block have also been etched primed and painted with anthracite gray.

And the anthracite gray paint (2 coatings) (I did 3 thin coats - but pics taken after second painting) (it's currently drying up the last layer)..;)
Also managed to fit the front "drivetrain"
Now time for some X-mas BEER!...:)
That replaces the original bracket for the rear silencer near the rear bumper. No need to buy that thing though since it comes with all Hartmann exhaust systems...

when I ordered the Hartmann Exhaust system for my VR6.
Can anyone tell me where this is supposed to be mounted? - is it ment to be a replacement for the original thingy that holds the mid silencer??

it's in the works - I will most likely only use this car during summertime (due to heavy salting of roads during winter time here in Norway = RUST), so hopefully finnished by next summer.
it's mostly ready for re-assembly though, only thing is to get back the last parts from powdercoater and then get the chain done (the engine is apart at the moment, but shouldn't be much left), and the Hartmann exhaust is in the post so will get that next week. Propably start assemble the drivetrain etc by then...;)

i am sure it will be fine. Last week i was also in contact with ARZ regarding a cable for the enginge. No problems.
yea, they where quick confirming the order etc, so I presume something have happened to my e-mails, maybe stopped by a spam filter for some very odd reason....:)
realy looking forward to fitting the hartmann system though, the VR6 got sound, and the hartmann just adds to it IMHO....:)
Finaly went ahead and ordered the Hartmann!!, looking forward to get it so I can get on with my build....;)

You need a double clip to install the exhaust to the catalyst.
