Distributor? Hall sender?

  • First of all sorry for not posting in the English forum but I do understand German, simply have some problems with fluent writing. So you can answer in english or german if you like.

I have a 92 Corrado VR6 and I had the timing done recently. Now the car does not start unless I apply some throttle, then after I lift my foot off the pedal it dies again. No matter - cold or warm. Under hard acceleration it feels like it has about 100HP.

Could it be the hall sender? I thought it is located in the distributor, in that case what is this:

? I didn't have it on my cam timing wheels...

    Thanks for any help.

no problem. if you must post in english, simply do it! as i know, it might be the hall sensor. the distributor does only control the timing of the fuel to get burned. perhaps the point of starting this prozess is also not exactly right?
but i have to say, that i'm driving a G..
so i have not as much experience with the VR-Engine!
Did you change somthing else expact this?

  • It all started when I changed the stock cams to Cat cams (274). They are hals a chain tooth off their perfect timing but that is a whole other story.

I'm 99% sure the current problems are due to the ignition. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Sorry, but when you changed the cams, you've to ask a VR-Driver.
I didn't change my cam, so i can't tell you anything about problems when changing them.
Perhaps the best way is to ask DANILO. He knows a lot about engines..
