What type of number plates do VW use for VW factory cars?

  • My Corrado was a car that VW used "in house" when it was new and therefor was never sold as a "new" car, the VW automuseum won't say what the exact number plate was (I would like to replicate it for "show" use).

Anyone know what's the difference between the number plates that VW obviously are allowed to use on cars that they use within the factory area is compared to normal German number plates?.

  • Cars on the plant have been registered under the circumstances, this is not a must, a note in the papers. But even in the old from Germany, the power vehicle. The number of the chassis does not really matter. If the car at the factory was admitted, this is a normal indicator happen. However, there were also cars that have been used in the plant that are not regularly admitted, these cars were equipped with a special indicator on the public roads, these plates are white instead of black, white with red lettering. Recognizing it can not really whether it was a work car. Unless you have documentation on what it shows.

Ok, naa only "documentation" I have is the reply from VW Automuseum that confirmed the car had been on some VW "plant" number plates.
